Goa is already the poster-child of Indian tourism.
Now, the state has another intriguing addition to lure tourists.
Goa’s Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar introduced
the rather funnily named Duck Boats’ service.
If you are curious, as we were,
duck boats are purpose-built amphibious tour buses
that are used as tourist attractions in cities that have a river or the sea.
Singapore has a pretty famous Duck Boat tour,
and the US is fairly thronging with them.
This Duck Boat tour in Goa is the first ever in India.
The Chief Minister was quick to hop onto a Duck Boat tour.
It is expected that full-fledged operations of the Duck Boat
joy rides will begin in November and you
can book online on www.goa-tourism.com.
One designated pick-up point at Panjim
will cater to the tours along two different routes.
Each tour will be for an hour and six
time slots will be scheduled for each vehicle in a day.
The maximum capacity for each vehicle is 32 seats.
Each ride will cost Rs500 per head, to begin with,
and will later be increased to Rs750.
The circuit tours will operate from Panjim to
Old Goa and the Dr. Salim Ali bird sanctuary.
Keeping in tune with the Make In India campaign,
the Duck Boat tours in Goa are operated by an Indian company,
with the boats also manufactured in India.
Well, Goa always has something to offer from its gorgeous beaches.
From parasailing to hot air balloon rides,
Goa Tourism has always something up its sleeve.
We are curious to see if you like the idea of Duck Boat tours.
Would you sign up for one the next time you are in Goa?
