Alipore Zoological Park, Kolkata
Alipore Zoological park is officially India’s oldest zoological park being open since 1876.
While new species of animals and birds are added at frequent intervals with kangaroos.
The latest addition, the zoo is perhaps best known for being a home to Adwaita, an Aldabra giant tortoise.
Adwaita lived for more than 250 years and died in 2006.
It was reportedly presented to none other than Robert Clive.
The British military commander in India by British sailors.
It is also home to the rare brow-antlered deer also known as Eld’s deer.
The food stalls dotted across the zoo are ideal for a quick snack break.
Don’t forget to visit the Alipore Zoo Aquarium, located right opposite.

Pt. G.B Pant High Altitude Zoo, Uttarakhand
Pt. G.B Pant is a zoo nestled on the Sher ka Danda Hill.
At an altitude of approximately 6900 ft above sea level.
In addition to giving the visitors a panoramic view of its gorgeous surroundings this zoological park.
The distinction of being home to many endangered species including India’s lone Siberian tiger, which died in 2011.
It’s a relatively a new zoo compared to some of the others having been set up in 1984.
It has gained considerable popularity.
For housing some rare Himalayan birds and animals and for being very well maintained.

Gulabh Bagh Zoological Park, Rajasthan
Situated inside the sprawling Gulabh Bagh in Udaipur.
This zoo is a small one with only a few species of animals housed within.
However, the diversity of flowers here is unparalleled coupled.
The highly enjoyable toy train ride for both kids and adults are what wins the hearts of the visitors.
You cannot miss out wandering around Kamal Talai or Lotus Pond and the regal Navlakha Mahal nearby.
