Unwind
Harithavanam has everything from night fishing to cattle grazing as part of the repertoire of activities that you can choose from. Clamber up rocks and hills, fish with the local fishermen, try herding cattle around to graze or just help out with farming. Take a plantation tour and visit the tea factory. Drive out to Thekaddy, just 14 kilometers away, linger around the river and visit the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Explore the as-yet-unexplored hill station of Gavi, take in the mist and air so crisp, it hurts.
Sleep
Harithavanam has 3 cottages and can totally accommodate 5 families all with bedrooms and attached bathrooms. Spacious and well furnished, all cottages have room service available.
Savour
Traditional Kerala food with a customisable menu. Don’t forget to sample the special kanji (gruel) with fish chutney, the beef stew as well as fresh fish caught from the river and cooked following tribal recipes.
Pay
The deluxe and eco-friendly cottages each have 2 rooms and cost Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,500 respectively while the standard cottage with one room costs Rs 2,000.
