[su_dropcap]S[/su_dropcap]tart your journey from Guwahati and head to the first pit stop of the trip, Tezpur in Assam. This is the path to the awesomeness of the Ziro Music Festival, and later, Majuli Island and Kaziranga. For now you hit the highway and speed away safely, to rest in Tezpur before a long ride awaits the next day. You may explore the city which is also considered the cultural capital of Assam. Overnight at Tezpur.
Today, you ride for almost 8 hours covering a distance of 300 kilometers. Enter Arunachal Pradesh and ride along the pretty Panyur river for a couple of hours. When you reach Ziro, tents will be waiting for you at our campsite along with a refreshing Apatani drink.
In the next three days, you will talk to like minded music lovers, join in bonfire sessions, explore the villages in and around, understand the Apatani way of life and go for guided village walks. Make new friends, go fishing with your bare hands, walk in lush paddy fields. This is three days of music and bliss.
After breakfast, you will begin your ride to the spectacular Majuli Island, a hot contender for being a UNESCO World Heritage site. The hills give way to plains and then paddy fields as you pass Mishing villages symbolized by houses on stilts. Reach Majuli and enjoy the peace and quiet of your cottages.
Let life slow down while you explore the Mishing villages of Majuli. The island, being a haven for vibrant Vaishnavite culture has a lot of activities that you may indulge in. Whether you choose to visit the famed mask-makers house or maybe experience the traditional hymns and dances in the Xatras(Traditional Schools of Vaishnavite culture), Majuli has a lot to offer.
The road ends here and you need to now load your bikes on the ferries and find a spot to park your body as well, and if you are lucky then you might spot a few river dolphins. This 1.5 hour ferry rides takes you over to the other side and the plains of Assam welcome you on good tarred roads. Three hours later you will be in Kaziranga national park, where you will be resting for the night.
An early wake up call beckons you as you set out on your elephant safari. Yes, this time you won’t be riding your bikes for a change. After the safari, set out on the return journey to Guwahati. Reach Guwahati by evening.
We can customize the trip and change the transportation to cars, change the itinerary to exclude the music festival and just explore the villages or any other additions or subtractions that you wish. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for planning it out!
