Meghalaya – The Queen Of The Hills

Arrive in Shillong and drive straight to Mawlynnong, which is referred to as God’s Garden being home to the famous living root bridge. It has also received acclaim for being the cleanest village in Asia. Situated around 100 kms away from Shillong, this village is filled with natural wonders. After breakfast, drive to Cherrapunji about 30 kms away. Cherrapunji needs no introduction for being the wettest place on earth. Visit Nohkalikai Falls, explore Mawsmai Caves, Dainthlen Falls, Thangkharang Park and the Seven Sister Waterfalls. Don’t miss the Khasi monoliths near the Mawsmai Falls. In the monsoon, you can witness these falls in all their glory. Overnight in Cherrapunji. 

Visit the incredible double decker living root bridge today, located in Tyrna village. Other attractions to visit include Wakaba Falls, Ka Khoh Ramhah or Pillar Rock a naturally formed rock in the shape of a huge cone, the first Presbyterian Church established by a Welsh missionary in the 19th century which was the first church in North East India. After breakfast, drive back to Shillong. On the way stop at Elephanta Falls and Shillong Peak. Visit St Mary’s Cathedral, the Butterfly Museum and Bara Bazaar during the day. Overnight in Shillong.

After breakfast drive to Cherrapunji . On the way, visit the Nohkalikai falls and Ramakrishna Mission museum.
