Quaint, scenic beaches and lagoons of clear, turquoise water with a background of rich history blend together to make Andaman and Nicobar one of the best vacation spots in the world. From long, adventurous treks to tranquil backwaters, this place has something in store for everyone. On this 5-day trip you will certainly fall head over heels in love with the heritage, the culture, and the environment that Andaman has to offer.
After you reach Port Blair Airport we will transfer you to the hotel. Relax for a while and freshen up before we visit our first destination which is Corbyn’s Cove Beach. Famed as the sole beach in Port Blair to be renovated with all the beach amenities from restaurants that serve delicious seafood to jet skiing and boating, the beach is fringed with lush palm trees swaying in the pleasant sea breeze while the white, sandy shore glitters in the sunlight. After seeing the glorious sunset here while having some light refreshment, we shall move on to the Cellular Jail Museum. Formerly a prison which has witnessed the struggle of the Indian freedom fighters during colonialism, this massive monument serves as a revered national memorial at present, with a captivating light and sound show inside the jail premises. This show brings back to life the scenario of the several years during which Andaman was under captivity. Afterwards, we shall head back to the hotel to get some sleep.
The second day begins early as we proceed towards Baratang Island. As we pass through the verdant forests, we may be lucky enough to see the Jarawa and Onge tribes, before we board a ferry to reach Baratang Jetty, also known as Nilambur. The ferry shall take us to the famous, dormant mud volcano. Later, we shall take another boat ride to Nayadera Jetty, a pathway with dense, tropical mangrove on either side. After getting off the boat, we shall take a walk to see limestone caves, where you can see gigantic, sedimentary natural formations of limestone. We return to Port Blair at the end of the day.
Rise and shine, for today, we are going on a cruise! We shall board a private, premium class cruise ferry, and enjoy the beautiful journey to Havelock Island, where we shall be spending this night. Upon arrival, we will visit the tranquil Radhanagar beach, known as one of the cleanest beaches in Asia. This crescent-shaped beach with shores of glittering, silver sand, offers a picturesque view of the sunset. After lunch, we shall proceed towards the spectacular Kalapathar Beach before we return to our hotel at Havelock.
Get ready for more breathtaking sights as we move towards the serene Neil Island. We will visit the Neil Kendra, also referred to as the “Heart of the Island”, picture perfect with wooden boats peppered across the gently curved beach. This place is also known as the “Vegetable Basket of Andaman”, as this is where most of the fruits and vegetables are grown. From there, we move to Bharatpur Beach and to the sprawling Laxmanpur Beaches I and II. While the former is a secluded beach, ideal for spending a few leisurely hours, the latter is a rocky beach, with the sea a repository of coral formations and a smorgasbord of aquatic animals. This area is also renowned for the natural rock bridge formation, often referred to as the “Local Howrah Bridge” by the inhabitants. Later, we return to Port Blair.
After breakfast, it is time to bid farewell as we leave for Port Blair Airport with wonderful memories to cherish.
