When you land in the Andamans, there is no need to rush about. Spend some time soaking in the place. It’s an island, after all. We could take you around later to the Cellular Jail, which was once a center of India’s struggle for independence. Or else, just relax. We have more to do later!
You will have to get up really early today. And we mean early! Like 3:30AM early! Travel to Baratang, which is around three hours from Port Blair. You will traverse dense rain forests, visiting a rarely visited spot in the Andamans. This is where you will see the Jarawa, one of the world’s oldest tribes. Please note that no photography or interaction with the tribals is permitted. You would also visit some amazing limestone caves and a mud volcano. What is that? Don’t ask us! Just go and check it out.
You haven’t had enough of offbeat Andaman just yet. You have a long journey, but we promise you that it’s worth it. Diglipur is around 3 hours or so from Rangat. This is the biggest island, with a pristine white sandy beach. You will see get to see the beautiful Ross and Smith islands. You can even walk from one island to another during low tide. Stay overnight in Diglipur. We did say this was offbeat Andaman, didn’t we?
We have a day of driving ahead of us today. But don’t worry, we have made it fun. You will get to see the Middle Andamans and drive through dense forest. Take a peek at delightful Amkunj beach and then Mochidera beach. You are back in Port Blair for the night.
After breakfast, transfer to Phoenix Bay Harbor to catch a ferry to Havelock. The Island (often just called Havelock) is one of the most beautiful and largest islands of Ritchie’s Archipelago and is a placid heaven like no other. Situated 57 km northeast of the South Andamans with an area of 92 Sq.Kms she offers a breath-taking trail of nature expeditions. This picturesque island with beautiful sandy beaches and lush green forest is also rated as the seventh most beautiful island in the world. It hosts two of the world’s most renowned beaches: Vijaynagar Beach and Radhanagar Beach. The island also has the biggest concentration of breath-taking diving and snorkelling sites, thus acting as a paradise for marine world explorers. On arrival, proceed to your hotel. Stay here overnight with a sandy beach and lush green forest in a comfortable beach resort.
In case you think we keep rushing you from here to there, today is a day for you to just lounge in the hammock. Ok, if you really don’t want to lounge, you can join us as we take an excursion to Elephant beach. This is a fantastic place to go snorkeling. You will get to see plenty of marine life and great corals. The beach is one of our favorites, white and glorious.
Check out from Havelock, and spend the day in Port Blair. It is well worth it because you might be a little tired after all that snorkeling and diving!
Well, come on, you have to pack those bags. Or would you rather you stay a while longer? Psst…talk to us. There’s nothing we can’t arrange!
